The 9-foot, 2,400 pound "Harriet Tubman- “The Journey to Freedom” sculpture to Georgetown, SC. This sculpture by renowned sculpturist Wesley Wofford, will be temporarily installed for viewing August 1 - November 1, 2023 the Joseph Rainey Park on Front St in Georgetown.

The 9-foot, 2,400 pound "Harriet Tubman- “The Journey to Freedom” sculpture to Georgetown, SC.
This sculpture by renowned sculpturist Wesley Wofford, will be temporarily installed for viewing August 1 - November 1, 2023. along with historical programming and lectures featuring the legacy and heritage of Harriet Tubman, Gullah Geechee culture and the life of James A. Bowley.
In 2019, Georgetown unveiled the Bowley - Tubman House, the residence of James A Bowley, the great-nephew of Harriet Tubman and a member of the first family led to freedom by Tubman. Bowley settled in Georgetown, SC and became an educator, UofSC Board of Trustee member, newspaper owner and state legislator.
